We are thrilled to introduce you to the new Executive Director of Puget Soundworks! Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Angela Mercado, who is stepping into this role with incredible experience and deep alignment to our mission and values.
Angela brings more than 18 years of leadership in the nonprofit and public sectors, most recently serving as Executive Director of University Heights Center here in Seattle and previously leading the Domestic Abuse Women’s Network in Kent. Throughout her career, she has championed equity, access, and community well-being—values that resonate deeply with who we are at PSW.
In our search, Angela rose to the top of a very strong and qualified candidate pool. What set her apart was not only her strong commitment to inclusion and community, but also her exceptional track record on the business side of nonprofit leadership. She brings proven expertise in fundraising, financial stewardship, and organizational growth—skills that will help Puget Soundworks thrive and expand in the years ahead.
When we spoke about her vision for this role, Angela shared:
“I’m passionate about community-facing work and excited to join a mission-driven team that believes in the power of connection, inclusion, and impact. As someone who finds deep meaning in art and music, I was particularly drawn to an organization that amplifies powerful voices and creates opportunities for us to connect with our communities through song. It’s an inspiring way to build a kinder, more inclusive world—together.”
We am so grateful that Angela has chosen to bring her leadership and vision to Puget Soundworks. This is a wonderful new chapter for our organization, and we couldn’t be more confident in Angela’s ability to help us grow, strengthen our community connections, and expand the impact of our music.
You’ll have the chance to meet Angela in person at our upcoming MYSTERY! concerts in Seattle on October 25 and 26 (get your tickets here). We can’t wait to share this exciting program with you and to introduce her to our wider community.
